It's November! Hoorah! Can I start talking about Christmas yet? No? Well, sorry I am about to ha ha!
I'm not really talking about it as such, I just think it's a good time for you to start your 'party season' prep if you get my drift!
Here are some top tips that I would recommend doing now so that your skin, hair and body looks in tip top condition for when you pull out your party dress. You don't have to do them all of course, but even one or two should help you get party ready...
- diet & nutrition
It is time to start keeping your diet in check. If you want to fit into that gorgeous party dress then make sure you are eating your best. I'm not a fan of fad diets, but just eating well at least 5 days a week will make a difference. Try and avoid processed foods and sugary treats. Cut down on your caffeine consumption and maybe introduce some supplements. I always recommend Skinade to give your skin a fabulous boost and this is the perfect time to start! Available in the clinic now starting at just £3.30 a day - you could even have it instead of that Starbucks coffee, it will do you more good and also will still give you a boost!
- regular body brushing and exfoliating
You don't want to spend all your time watching your diet and not looking after your skin. If you can get into the gym then great, but if not why not try daily dry body brushing? It will stimulate your body's circulation and and also help remove toxins - plus it's great to help with cellulite!
To learn more about body brushing, read my previous post here.
- false tan prep & practice
What you don't want is getting invited to a party, realising your legs haven't seen the light of day since your holiday in August and then attempting to do your own false tan... that goes wrong! Yes, you can go and get a spray tan, but not always at the last minute. Start practising doing your tan now so if you need to, you can just quickly do one before you go out! A lot of tans nowadays can develop within an hour, so you can put it on when you get home from work and it you will be beautifully bronzed by the time you leave for your night out! - weekly exfoliation and face mask
If you can't get in for a facial with me, then why not treat your skin to a weekly face mask and exfoliation. This will keep your skin looking all nice and glowing for Winter. Yes, this is great to do for Christmas as your skin will look great for all the parties and events, but it's also great for your skin in Winter. With all the central heating, car blowers and heaters our skin can really dry out and become flaky and tight. Regular treatment will get rid of any dry, flaky skin and replenish it with a good face mask. Look for ones that are hydrating or rejuvenating especially. Don't think this has to be a big task either, sometimes it can just involve doing a re-jig of your morning or evening routine. For example, if you usually cleanse your face in the shower, then just quickly do a gentle exfoliation afterwards - only a minute or so. Then, get out of the shower and pop on a face mask. Have it on whilst you get your clothes out for the day or have your breakfast. Then continue with your day as normal. Or, if you have time in the evening, put one on whilst your watching tv at home, or before bedtime.
If you are really stuck for time, maybe try this one I swear by...
As it's an overnight treatment, all you need to do is wash your face as normal and just apply this mask - no other eye creams or serums. Then, off to bed and wash it off in the morning! Simple! You can buy this face mask in the clinic too - Nimue Anti-Ageing Overnight Face Mask - £34
- weekly hair treatment
I love doing a weekly hair treatment. I have done this for years and it really keeps my hair in the best condition. Especially when I used to have super long hair. It stopped it getting dry and dead at the ends. My method - to keep it quick and easy is this...
Get in the shower and shampoo and condition your hair. Once you have done this, then apply your hair mask. Then do all your other bits whilst it's on - wash your body, body scrubs, shave legs etc and then wash it out. I don't find it interferes with my routine and my hair stays looking good as well. Why not give it a try?
So I hope they were some helpful tips for you to get party season ready!
Thanks so much for reading!
