EATING OUT: Bundobust | Manchester

Hello!

Welcome back :) Today I thought I'd do an 'eating out' post as I've not done one in a while. I think the last one was from The Con Club in Altrincham. If you didn't read it, you can do here.

Anyways, hubs has been on at me for a while to go and try out this place. Apparently it's an Indian style street food restaurant/canteen and it's meant to be pretty cool. Then, he really tempted me! He said it's all vegetarian!! EEEEEEKKK excitement!! I know everybody isn't veggie and so I don't expect you to be as excited as me, but these restaurants are bloody hard to find! Without going off on a rant (too much!), I'm so fed up of going out and the only veggie option is either cheese or some kind of stuffed something or risotto that's laden with cream! I know I've only been veggie for around 18 months or so, but how can restaurants/supermarkets only offer such a small selection! Really P's me off! Sorry... rant over! Anyway! I present to you.... BUNDOBUST!

So this place was not what I was expecting! Well, to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect but it really surprised me! Really chilled environment, I literally could have rolled up in PJ's and felt at home! Kind of 'uber-cool' place, but without that 'we're too cool' vibe - if you know what I mean?!?!

Pomegranate and Orange Soda

I left hubby in charge of ordering so I didn't have a choice ha ha! This food was really good though. We tried I guess a bit of everything. Some better than others. I will say I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely go back too. Will try and figure out what we had and list it under the pics. Plus check out these little pots it comes in - I love the way it was so chilled and laid back in there. Didn't finish all your food? Just ask them for lids! No faffing around with putting it in boxes. Such a simple idea - love it!

Bhel Puri & Bundo Chaat

Vada Pav (basically an aloo tikki in a burger!) and the sauce trio

Mixed salad, Paneer & Mushroom Tikka (kebab), Biryani Bhaji Balls, Okra Fries (ACTUAL HEAVEN!!) and Massala Dosa

The whole lot!

So, I actually really enjoyed this meal. We obviously hadn't been before so didn't know what everything would be like. My fav's were the okra fries, Bhel Puri (this had a major kick mind you!) Bundo Chaat and the paneer and mushroom tikka. We weren't much of a fan of the dosa and vada pav. The Vada pav was a bit dry and heavy and the dosa - I dunno, I just didn't get it. Maybe a bit greasy for me, but you've got to try these things!

In summary, I loved this place. Fancy going to town? Want something with lots of flavour? Can't be bothered getting out of your pj's? ha ha! This is the place. The service was great, everybody was super helpful and friendly and I'm happy to say we have a new place to eat out for a change. Oh, and by the way, I think it's quite famous for it's specialty beers and cocktails. Sorry, I'm not a beer drinker and we stuck to water and a soda. However, if you're a fan of a beer and a spicy snack, this might be the place for you!

I would love to hear what you thought of the place if you go.

Thanks so much for reading,

Big love,

Em x
