LITTLE GEMS: Bondabust, Hawksmoor and a recipe for baked porridge :)

Hello!

Welcome back to my blog! How was your week? Good? Busy? Mine was pretty good. I managed to get a lot of yoga in - nearly 7 hours in fact! Super proud of myself too. I did my usual classes, plus I did a 'detox yoga' workshop for 2 hours on Saturday which was fab! You wouldn't believe how much it can have an impact on your body though! Geez! Yeh, I won't go into details, but I feel throughly detoxed this morning! ha ha!
I also was out on Friday night at a Mos Def concert! Not seen him before and it was so much fun, always good to have a boogie now and again! :)
I've also been working on my Viceroy & Grace brand as well. Friday day was spent taking beautiful pictures with my graphic designer and art Director Sally from Little Betty Design. As much as you think you can do this yourself, it's such a dark art making images like this and I swear Sally knows her stuff! Here's a sneak preview of what's to come...

(P.s. This is just shot off my iPhone - I snook my phone in front of the camera when she wasn't looking ha ha!)

Anyways, it was a good week. Monday I made some rice bowls with roasted aubergine, avocado, roasted onions, spinach and halloumi. I've not had halloumi in so long and so when hubs said he fancied some I thought it might be nice for a change. It was so delicious, but probably best I don't have it too often, it can get quite addictive!

We celebrated my Dad's birthday on Tuesday and went to Hawksmoor in Manchester. I love this place and I haven't been in so so long. I really enjoyed it and most importantly - so did my Dad!

Me and hubs :)

Their veggie option was really good. It was baked celeriac and spelt. I think it was vegan too - it was amazing! I love it when the veggie option is as good as the rest of the menu.

Then we shared two desserts between the four of us. Above is the honeycomb cheesecake and below is the sticky toffee pudding. I couldn't eat the cheesecake as I can't have the cream, but I had a little sticky toffee and it was really good!

Happy Poppa Bear with a full belly :)

So Saturday morning I couldn't decide what to eat. I wanted something that was pretty filling as I was going to my detox yoga and didn't want to have lunch - I came up with this! Baked apple and manuka honey porridge! It was sooo good too, super fluffy and tasty. Probably not something that I can make during the week as it took around 30 mins to cook, but if you have extra time on a weekend or a lazy day at home, it's a good option! Simply soak 1/4 cup of oats in 100ml of boiling water for around 5 mins in a small ovenproof dish and then add 60ml of almond milk. Stir through and then add 1/2 a grated apple (peeled). Then around 1 teaspoon of honey, 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract and a good grating of nutmeg. Put it in the oven and bake for around 20 mins at 200 degrees C. I think next time I might add some granola on top too. It was really tasty, I highly recommend it!

After all that yoga on Saturday I just fancied a light dinner and so I made some padron peppers and then had them with celery sticks and hummus. Easy peasy and tasty too!

Finally, tonight we went to Bundobust for the first time. I don't want to show you too much as I'm going to do a post on this place. It is an Indian street food restaurant which is all vegetarian (plus they do a lot of vegan options too!).

As always we ordered a LOT of food. Pretty much ate it all though and these little pots are so great. When you can't eat anymore, just ask them for a lid and you can take the pot home! How cool is that!

I hope you had a good week. I put my first You Tube video up last week too on Skincare and how to look after your skin if you're stressed. I was so nervous doing this and venturing out into the world of you tube! I'm hoping to get another one out next week so keep your eyes peeled. If you didn't see it and fancy having a watch, I will put the link here.

Thanks so much for reading and I will see you soon,

Big love,

Em x
