EATING OUT: Sakana Manchester

So, a few weeks back I was very lucky to get to go for dinner with some friends and family at Sakana in Manchester. I've wanted to try this place for so long too so it was the perfect opportunity to try lots of food with some lovely company!

As there were so many of us, we managed to try pretty much everything on the menu. We literally had so many different plates of food I couldn't tell you what everything was, so instead, I will let the pictures do all the talking.

I would say that there are a lot of new bar/restaurants opening up at the moment which are rather 'cool'. They try very hard with the decor, they get in all the fancy pants people and present you with plates of food that can look like pieces of art more than something to eat. Then unfortunately, the actual food lets the whole thing down with simple schoolboy errors (Think Tattu or Menagerie!). It's so disappointing! I was concerned that this would be one of those places, the location is good, the decor is fun and the clientele are all the cool cats... but I was so pleasantly surprised. I must say the food is seriously good here! It tastes fresh and is full of flavour. These are true Chinese restauranteurs that seriously know their stuff (which makes such a refreshing change as so many of these restaurants are designed by people who know 'cool' but not good food - these guys know both!). The owners are from the Chi Yip Group who own the likes of Red Chilli restaurant and Ocean Treasure - which are two of my fav Chinese restaurants.
So, obviously I didn't any of the meat dishes, but I thought I would add the pics for you to see in any case!

So, without further adieu, here is some super tasting nosh for you to dribble over...

As you can see there was A LOT of food! It was seriously good too! I would really recommend checking this place out. If you fancy going for drinky poos with some friends then Saturday night might be for you. The music is loud and the drinks are flowing! For me, I like the chilled lunchtime vibe with friends and a cup of green tea, but hey that's just me!

I hope you check it out, let me know what you think!

Thanks so much for reading,
