FIVE FAVOURITES: SMOOTHIE SPECIAL

I love a good smoothie me! Especially for breakfast in the morning, they taste great, fill my belly and are good for me! Win win in my book!
My smoothies do vary every time I make them, but there are some that I always go back to again and again. Here are my top 5 favourites...

1. The Ultimate Green Smoothie
Well it has to be doesn't it! I love a green smoothie and if I know I've got a busy day ahead, I try to get one of these in me at the beginning of the day. It's packed full of energy to keep me going. Try blitzing all these together...

  • 1/4 cup of oats
  • 250ml purified/filtered water
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup frozen mango
  • big handful of organic greens - kale or spinach
  • scoop of vegan protein power
  • 1 tsp green magic powder supplement
  • heaped tsp coconut oil
  • tbsp nut butter
  • small handful of seeds

2. The Lightweight Green Smoothie
So this is I guess a 'lighter' version. It doesn't have any oats in and I guess you could say it tastes rather green! I still find it super tasty though, make sure all your veg is organic where possible too...

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup purified/filtered water
  • 1 head of romaine lettuce
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • big handful of spinach or kale
  • 1 apple
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cucumber

3. The Acai Berry Smoothie
I love this as smoothie to drink with a straw or as a smoothie bowl sprinkled with lots of goodness on top. I like to top it with granola, bee pollen, cacao nibs, goji berries and chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup purified/filtered water
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 date
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • 1 tbsp acai berry powder
  • 1/4 tsp probiotic supplement

4. Post - Workout Protein Smoothie
Not that I do that much cardio anymore, but when I did I used to always have this afterwards. It always cooled me down too if I was a bit of a sweaty betty! I love Sun Warrior Vegan Protein Powder in Vanilla flavour, but you choose another one that suits you if you wish to.
  • 1 cup filtered/purified water
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1 scoop Sun Warrior Vegan Protein Powder
  • Handful of ice cubes
5. Afternoon Chocolate Hit
Now and again on my days off I can get a bit peckish in the afternoon - it's probably because when I'm working I don't stop so when I do I get the munchies ha ha! This is a great smoothie when I want a bit of sweetness. It's also really nice and cooling so great in the Summer when it's hot instead of an ice cream.
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • handful of ice cubes
  • 1 frozen banana
  • handful of frozen berries or fresh strawberries
  • 1 or 2 dates (depending on how sweet you want it)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Well, these are my top 5 at the moment. I will let you know if I discover any other ones :)

I hope you might have found a bit of inspiration too. Thanks so much for reading!
