EATING OUT: Inspiring Women for International Women's Day

So on Wednesday night I went to a fabulous event at The Yard in Alderley Edge - Done by the girls from The Garden in Hale. It was on International Women's Day and we all went to celebrate it! I just wanted to share some pictures of the event. It was a 'Supper Club' so we bought tickets and got a delicious vegan meal and listened to a couple of fabulous talks.

The Yard is such a lovely space to use. It felt so homely and warm too. I love that rustic look! It was such a fun night and really busy as well.

As you can see, it was a women's only event! It felt so empowering to be in a room filled with women. It creates a really great atmosphere. Everybody was so lovely and there was such a positive vibe in the room.

That will be me!

The delicious menu!

We started off the night with some 'I am well' drinks each. This is one of my fav hot tonics and I always have one when I go to The Garden. Super lemony and healing.

Soup for starters! I'm sure you know how much I love soup - I literally have it every day for my lunch at work. The soups from The Garden are the absolute best as well. All organic, freshly made and taste great. I think I have a bit of a soup addiction ha ha!

Mains was a lovely bean burger with some kale and an avocado dressing. This was so filling! Funnily enough, this probably would have been my dinner at home if I didn't go! I love a good veggie burger and some greens. Such a simple recipe but it tastes really good and the kale adds a nice texture as well.

Finally, dessert! Now, I'm not a major fan of fruit cake - kind of goes through me but this actually tasted really good! Loved the sweet sauce with it too!

We also had an amazing talk from Mel Wells who is a Health and Eating Psychology Coach, Speaker, Body Image Expert and Bestselling Author of The Goddess Revolution. She was so so inspiring. It was all about self-love and how we should let go of negativity and focus on sending out love. Mel only works with women and she encourages them to improve their relationships with their bodies. I can honestly say I was so in awe of her and what she stood for. She has also written a book - which I had to buy of course, called The Goddess Revolution which you can read more about here. I can't wait to start reading it, might make it my priority this weekend!
We also had a lovely talk from Sadie who runs the Yard with her family. She spoke about her trip to Nepal with Oxfam and how Oxfam have improved some many women's lives. It really put into perspective how lucky and fortunate we are over here in the Western world. It also showed how strong us women can be too.

I find that International Women's Day usually goes by without me thinking too much about it. There tends to be a lot of focus on it through social media, but something about this event really made me think how amazing it is. How strong women are and can be and it also made me feel so proud to be a woman - in a room filled with women.
We have come so far now (and although we are not completely there yet) that it made me realise how important this day actually is. To celebrate us women, strong and powerful!

So, as I sit here typing this post, I raise my glass to all us fabulous women out there! Where ever you are, I salute you!

Congratulations and Happy International Women's Day!

Thanks so much for reading,

Big love,
